We were fortunate enough to have Sheila Grinel CEO of the Az Science Center for introduce the club to the education and entertainment which can be provided at the Center. In 2000 the Center has over 400,000 visitors, 120,000 were school children. It is a 120,000 square ft. facility with a theater and planetarium and over 300 hands on displays. Open 363 days of the year, the Center focuses on 4th to 6th graders. A 650 student summer camp just concluded. The Theater screen is 65 x 50 and the films immerse the viewers. Sheila was so kind as to say that our club was the most interesting rotary she has attended.
Happy bucks flew for the Bookspan’s 36th Aniversary, the Akins 43rd Aniversary, Art and Sharon Stoltz new house, Mike Palumbo’s ND tickets to Nebraska game, Donn Williams Daughter’s Wedding,Glenn Bolus’ 59 years with Roya and many others.
