West Side Story
Text Box: THINGS YOU NEED TO
KNOW
On Sept. 7 many met at Mary Coyle’s Ice Cream Parlor at 5:30 and went on to see the Ballet Folklorico Recital. The show was an outstanding picture of Mexican history in dance. Chuck and Mary T. were outstanding. Rather, Mary was outstanding and Chuck needed his oil changed.
  Special Guests were:
Storm, Rhea, and Rhiauon visiting Rhonda Rhea from Japan. They were really special.

Text Box: September 6
Pieter Vos and Carolee Terpstra presented the Guatemalan Literary Program. Thus far they have raised $192,000 and sent 28,000 books to 80 schools in Guatemala. The text books help the students develop their self esteem and build a better life through learning. It is a great way for Rotarians to get involved in an international project. The goal for Pieter and Carolee is to serve 600 schools. Pieter and Carolee gave each of member of the club a miniature worry doll. In Guatemala they believe that telling the doll your troubles and then putting it under your pillow will take away the troubles. John Akin was the sponsor of the Program.

Our Sympathy Goes Out To Donn Catt and his family on the tragic loss of his Son, many times a visitor to our club.

Raffle worth $15

Sharon Stoltz  had no challenge so she tanked the draw.  She couldn’t even get someone to give her $5 for being the first.

Chuck T. forgot his rotary roots and paid dearly.  Happy bucks were from Charlie Stevens who invented a reason to get his name in the newsletter by contributing and Dominic Sabbia who proclaimed an empty nest.  Thanks Guys.
