Text Box: September 27 Program

Russ Huber Director of Child’s Help Children’s Center was brought to us by Wilma Basnett. Russ, a former Mesa police detective was selected to develop the Center about 3 years ago. The center, a privately funded program, is the location where abused and battered children can be brought to complete an investigation. It provides a more humane and safer environment than a police station. The Center houses 28 Phoenix police detectives, 4 other officers, 3 full time pediatricians a psychologist and 4 physical therapists. Occasionally an Asst. County Attorney and Attorney General. The investigations of abuse that used to take 3 weeks now may be done in 3 hours. The Center recently received a Ranch North of Wickenburg donated by Merv Griffin.

Raffle worth $74 Last Week

John Fabiano’s ticket was drawn but he missed the joker.  His ticket was drawn again but John relinquished his draw and Peggy Akin was favored by the pick but not by the joker god.

Happy bucks were contributed by:

Wilma Basnett

Dave Siegrest for the fortune of having Ceasar Lasano visit Phoenix West as an Exchange Student.

Art Stoltz was the secret greeter.  Get it organized Prez, your s’posed to get others involved.
